Fannie Leard Creighton album, 1869-1875.

Album owned by Fannie Leard Creighton and used by her when she was Fannie Leard, a pupil at Davenport Female College, Lenoir, N.C., in 1869, with a few entries added up to 1875. Fannie was the daughter of a Methodist minister, the Rev. Samuel Leard. She married Charles W. Creighton in 1880. The album contains autographs and messages from fellow students, teachers, and friends, and from the Rev. Samuel Leard. The Rev. Samuel Leard wrote on the fly-leaf of his daughter's album in 1873. The Rev. Samuel Lander, who wrote on the last page in 1869 and signed himself "Your affectionate teacher," was the president of Davenport Female College.
